This route starts at the base of the Steamboat Gondola and finishes by touching Thunderhead Lodge.

The recommended course is to take the Thunderhead Trail until splitting off for the final push to the finish, but the FKT is from the base to Thunderhead Lodge by defined trails. It is up to each athlete to determine the trails that they'd like to utilize that match their strengths in order to set the quickest time possible.

No matter what route you choose, strength in long ascents will be needed to conquer this FKT.
