Caribou-Speckled Loop (ME)
The Caribou-Speckled Wilderness Area was established in 1990 and is entirely in the state of Maine. At 11,000 acres, it’s the state’s largest wilderness area and both of these routes take you over the area’s two namesakes:
Quentin Cuartielles - Chemin de Compostelle: Auxerre-Vezelay (France) - 2024-08-15
Chris Leblanc - Long Path (NY) - 2024-08-13
Mt. Glory
Starting and ending at the pavement on top of historic Teton Pass, this short but stout run climbs 1700 feet over roughly .9 miles at an average grade of 33.6%. Known as one of the most popular and accessible backcountry boot packs in the United States, it doesn’t see as much travel during the summer season. Hopefully that changes!
Debbie Livingston - Greylock AT Traverse (MA) - 2024-08-12
Les 14 1300 des Vosges (France)
Traversée dans le massif des Vosges de Colmar à Thann qui passe par les 14 sommets de plus de 1300 m des Vosges.
Nick Hirdt - McClellan Butte (WA) - 2024-08-14
Ying Lin, Andrew Shen, Zafar Choriev - Queens Perimeter (NY) - 2024-07-22
Mdaabii Miikna Loop
The Mdaabii Miikna Loop is located in beautiful Pukaskwa National Park. Mdaabii Miikna stands for “go to the shore trail” in Ojibwe. This route consists of the Mdaabii Miikna Trail and also a small section of the Pukaskwa Coastal Trail to form a loop. It is a little over a 3 mile hike from Hattie Cove to get to the start of this loop. Great opportunity for a warm up and cool down.
