Description

From Lake of the Clouds to Squam Lake in the White Mountains. What makes this route unique, is that it crosses over some of the major roads in the White Mountains, but it doesn't follow what many might consider to be the most popular trails.

The start/ends are the Ammonoosuc Ravine TH and Cotton Mt. TH.

Arapaho Peaks Traverse (CO)

Submitted by erinton on Sun, 08/24/2025 - 03:38pm
Description

Anyone who spends time in the Indian Peaks Wilderness must do the South Arapaho to North Arapaho traverse. It is considered one of the 50 classic Colorado scrambles. The run up to South Arapaho is well-trafficked, with the final pitch being a brief, class-2 scramble. Then, the short traverse goes at class 3. It is nothing overly technical or exposed, with one slab move and a gully climb. The route starts and ends at the 4th of July trailhead. Though it is very tempting to cut the switchbacks, runners must stay on trail for the FKT to be considered.

Pine Ridge Trail

Description

The Pine Ridge trail cuts  point-to-point through the remote and rugged heart of the Ventana Wilderness of Big Sur, CA. The trail runs east to west between Big Sur state park at Highway 1 and China Camp off of Tassajara road, high up in the inland and hard to access mountains. Access is straightforward at both ends of the trail so one may choose to start at the higher elevations and finish at Big Sur Station, or begin at the coast and finish at China Camp up on Tassajara Rd.
