Description

The Erewash Valley Trail is a circular route taking on 30 miles of waterways and countryside of the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire borders.  The valley is a special place that has inspired authors such as DH Lawrence and Alan Sillitoe, and is a haven for wildlife. Much of what we see in the valley today reflects the activities of the 18th century, the river providing travel, transport and power, prior to the steam age.  It is now a popular destination for leisure activities such as running, cycling, angling and boating.
