The route begins at Funayama Car Park, and heads south across a couple of small streams before climbing up onto the central ridge. A well defined path follows until the route breaks free from the treeline (around 2500m) it then veers south along a sharp ridge line. The final climb is on a  slightly exposed waterfall ... the trail then winds through a rocky scree slope until the top... the descent follows the traditional route down to the car park.

The route is a long distance walking route, in a figure 8 loop covering Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Essex in the UK. It winds through beautiful rolling countryside and passes through Cambridge City Centre and some notable historic villages along the way.
