Description

Starting at the main parking area for Horse Butte, run to the top of Horse Butte to tag the first horse. Then cross the dirt road and begin the Horse Butte trail clockwise. Just under 5mi in, reach the Skeleton Caves junction and continue straight. Stay on the Horse-to-Horse trail past Stookey Flat, toward Golden Valley. Gently wind uphill until the intersection on a height of land- take the right, very steep out-and-back for Horse Ridge #1. The summit is to the right once on the ridge. A tree marks the highest point.

Description

Submitted by Karl-Johan Piehl on Mon, 03/22/2021 - 06:33am
Description

Crossing Sarek national park by the most obvious running route that contains most of what Sarek has to offer. This is the route that runs straight through Sarek and most of the route is done within the national park borders - unlike many other Sarek routes. The route is demanding because of big parts without a trail as well as wetlands, bushwhacking, rocky terrain and major stream crossings that needs to be done. The southern half of the route is not as frequented among hikers as the northern half.

Annweiler Richard-Löwenherz-Weg (Germany)

Description

Beautiful trail, starting at the town of Annweiler. The trail leads through the Trifels region, with impressive views depending on the weather conditions.

The trail is very well marked – in both directions (see picture). The trail can be run all year round.

The provided gpx. file includes the trail all the way to the entrance of the Rehberg Tower. Walking up the tower is mandatory and provides for a beautiful 360 degree view. The official distance of 13km is likely more appropriate than the gpx file or gps measurement (app. 12km), given the many serpentines.

Description

Inaugurated in October 2020, the “Amarminoen” trail gets its name from its location on the island of Amager. Starting at Copenhagen’s Ørestad district it runs through ‘Naturpark Amager’, which is a large natural area 10 times the size of New York’s Central Park. The 27 km walk finishes at the old and colourful fishing village of Dragør where hikers can rest their feet and enjoy the beautiful view of the Øresund strait.
