Description

A circular route from Rye, East Sussex.

A harbour two miles inland. A town that fell into the sea. Sheep that like to live by the coast. Smugglers sneaking across tidal marshes. Pilotless planes appearing from across the water. A coastal walk where you only glimpse the sea from afar.

Dän Zhùr (Donjek) Route (YT, Canada)

Description

The Dän Zhùr (Donjek) Route is the longest and most difficult route in Kluane National Park. The route involves traversing open tundra, fording dozens of creek crossings,  and travelling over three mountain passes. The route is entirely unmarked and navigation is challenging. The route is approximately 110 km measured from highway to highway, depending on navigation and has about 3300m of gross elevation gain. 

Eagle Cap (OR)

Description

Eagle Cap is the centerpiece of the largest Wilderness Area in Oregon.  It’s striking rocky summit is well known, and a popular hiking destination within the Wallowa Mountains.  Eagle Cap is the 13th highest peak in Oregon at 9,572 feet, and the highest point in Union County.  Although it’s not the highest or most prominent peak within the region, it can be seen from many different valleys and peaks, making it a recognizable landmark.

Emigrant Wilderness Traverse (CA)

Description

One of the silver linings of our global pandemic has been the opportunity to explore more deeply and purely the wilderness and natural beauty in abundance across the Sierras.  We have been spending our time living with the heartbeat of nature and mapping out adventures through the high sierras this summer.  My wife Kim and I had not spent any time in the Emigrant Wilderness and began to research the area, reaching out to friends and exploring the FKT boards for adventures.  We travelled up to Sonora Pass in mid-July and we each had superb adventures, I ran a Leor Pantilat Granite Dome Loop
