Description

The Venediger High Trail (Höhenweg) is usually walked in 5, 6 or 7 days through the Venediger Group in Austria’s Hohe Tauern National Park. This classic hut to hut hike partially wraps around Grossvenediger, Austria’s second-largest mountain, delivering views of mammoth mountains, melting glaciers, and countless waterfalls.

Some websites explains variations one could make on the Venediger High Trail (for instance if you want to traverse a given summit on the way.)

Description

The Wiener Höhenweg (High Trail) is a classical hut to hut hike in Austria’s Hohe Tauern National Park. Almost every mountain group in Austria has its own ‘’Höhenweg’’. This FKT course is running through the Schobergruppe and partly the Glocknergruppe. It is usually hiked in 5 or 6 days and runs between the Iselsberg near the alpine city of Lienz and ends at the famous Glocknerhaus at the foot of Austria’s highest mountain (Grossglockner) through a unique high mountain landscape, rugged peaks and deep blue mountain lakes.
