Description

Mountain loop trail around Cloud Peak, mostly within the designated Cloud Peak Wilderness area west of Buffalo, WY.  Elevation ranges from 8,300 feet to 10,925 feet, climbing over 4 passes.  Much of the route is above timberline for beautiful views, and passes by 4 lakes.  There are 4 main access trailheads, so hikers can connect from the east, north, west, or south - each adds a few miles of hiking before starting the loop.

Description

Out-and-back route passing three beautiful lakes. The trail is easy to follow but technical with some sections that allow a decent running pace.  Begin at the Beaver Lake TH at Beaver Creek ski resort, turn around when you reach the upper lake (you do not have to run part way or all the way around the lake).

The Tour De Spray Valley. This trail is bookended by Elk Pass, BC and Goat Creek trail in Canmore.  Note that the Elk Pass terminus of this trail must be reached by walking from a TH, ~3.6 miles from the Elk Pass TH in Alberta, for example.  Nevertheless, time starts or stops at the trail junction.
