The Frontenac Challenge is an annual hiking challenge (not a race) to complete all 11 of Frontenac Provincial Park's trail loops specifically between September 1st and October 31st. By completing the challenge, hikers get to explore much of Frontenac Provincial Park's 5,355 hectares on the southern edge of the Canadian Shield in Ontario during a great time to see fall colours. Besides the time window (September and October), completing the Frontenac Challenge involves a few rules. For example, parts of a trail loop that are shared with a neighbouring loop must be hiked twice.

This loop is about 16.5 miles long with about 3,154 ft of elevation gain. It is designed to cover most of the Topanga State park trails and the most interesting sites like Eagle Rock, Hub Junction, Santa Ynez Canyon, and Temescal Peak. This loop includes a hidden trail on the north side that goes through 2 of the highest peaks in the area.

Andros Island is divided into several islands. The route is on the northern island and starts at the southern most point near Behring Point. The route follows Queen's Highway all the way to the northern end of the island to Morgan's Bluff. It measured 64.5 miles on the GPS watch. It is all on the road and runs through several communities However, most of it is undeveloped.

A 23-mile bike/running trail that follows the Salt Creek from the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago south and then east through several forest preserves into Cook County and the closer western suburbs of Chicago. The north end of the path is managed/mapped by Dupage County and the several suburbs that it passes through and the southeastern portion is located and managed by the Cook County Forest Preserve District. There are a few sections connected by streets, but throughout the path the signage identifies the path as the "Salt Creek Greenway Trail" or the "Salt Creek Path".
