The journey begins at the Basilica of San Nicola in Bari, a symbolic place of pilgrimage in Puglia, and crosses the ancient territory of Peucezia. It traverses lush olive groves characterizing the coastal plain, vast steppes of the Murge plateau, patches of woodland, and karst formations (ravines and gorges), creating the enchanting rocky landscape that hosts towns like Gravina in Puglia and Matera.

This FKT route follows the Trexler Border Trail, a spectacular 9+ mile perimeter trail that encircles the entire 1,108-acre Trexler Nature Preserve. What makes this FKT unique is the double loop format - you'll complete two full loops of the Border Trail, with the second loop running in the opposite direction from the first.

Route Description

The Length of Thailand - 

From the furthest point north in Mae Sai on the border of Myanmar to the furthest point South in Betong, on the border with Malaysia.

All on road.

The route is special for the incredible scenery, friendly Thai people, and amazing food you can eat. The north feels very different to the south of Thailand. 

A true endurance test, running day after day in the hot Thai climate.
