GR 58 - Tour du Queyras (France)

Description

The GR58 is a rewarding but also strenuous hike. Not difficult, technically, but for sure you will need your perseverance and muscles. The mountains of the Queyras get less rain than the popular Écrins in the west. You will climb high, a handful of passes go over 2.800 m, one is even over 3.000 m. Highlight is the view on the Monte Viso on the Italian side.

Description

Bells Gap Trail:

There’s more than one way to climb the Allegheny Front! The Bells Gap Trail follows a meandering right-of-way that enabled the Bells Gap Railroad to climb the Front on a grade of 4% or less as early as the 1850s. Today the 6.3-mile trail provides some outstanding views of eastern ridges, the Tuckahoe Valley and Bellwood Reservoir while crossing pretty little mountain streams before ending its climb in Lloydsville.
