Description

This route tags the two iconic mountains, each in a different state, on the east end of Columbia River Gorge, with a swim across the Columbia River to link them.  The trails are great and the swim adds some spice!  As an added bonus, each of the two climbs involve a loop to a certain extent. The route starts at the Starvation Creek State Park. From there, the route begins with a stiff run up and down Mt. Defiance via the Mt.

Tumbledown Mountain Trail (ME)

Description

Tumbledown Mountain Trail is located in Weld, Maine. It is rough, and rugged terrain with an ascent that requires you to be on all fours the majority of the time, and to squeeze through a tight rock passage with ladder rings welded into the rocks. The ascent begins off the side of Weld Byron Road at the Loop trailhead. You ascend the Loop trail for a little over 1.6 miles before trekking across the top of Tumbledown Mountain for about 0.8 miles. You then begin your descent down Brook trail which is about 1.5 miles long.

Sadelinleden

Description

The Sadelin trail is a hiking trail that leads through three municipalities on the Åland islands; Hammarland, Finström and Geta. The trail consists of varying terrain; meadows, forests, mountains and beaches. The trail passes villages and sights and the nature reserve Hockboleholmarna and more historical places; such as Sali's battery mountain. The trail is marked with white painted posts, peaks, mountains and trees.
