Description

Acropole Des Draveurs (QC, Canada)

Description

VERY popular hiking route in Charlevoix. Probably one of the most popular hiking route in the whole province of Quebec. Very busy, filled with novice and experienced hikers. Bus shuttle will regularly drop 40 people at the start of the route, every 10-15 minutes on nice weather day. It is not uncommon to find 200+ people on the trail and summit area on a nice summer day. Best to pick an overcast day for an attempt.

Start at the Parc cabin/gate just past the bus dropoff shelter. Finish at the 3rd summit sign.

Trail can be divided in 3 parts.

Bruce Trail, Sydenham Section

Description

The Sydenham section is one of nine sections of the 890km Bruce Trail, Canada's longest and oldest marked trail. This section is an approximately 170km section of trail starting at the end of the Beaver Valley section. More specifically, it starts in Blantyre and along the escarpment for about 170km until it arrives in Bluewater Park in downtown Wiarton. It is a very beautiful, yet rocky and rugged section!

Big Mac's 6 Peak Cirque

Description

I wanted to create a route that included the six major peaks that encompass the Kyle Canyon Cirque: Harris, Griffith, Charelston, Lee, Mummy, and Fletcher. I twice attempted a longer version of this route, and failed both times.

Lauren McCloud (Big Mac) suggested this route, and we were successful. We started with a gallon of water each, and did not filter, collect, or cache water, or receive support in any way. We were completely unsupported, and self contained on this route that we finished in under 12 hours.

Orkney Two Towns Trail

Description

A short, simple and scenic route between the two biggest towns on Mainland Orkeny.

Starting at St Magus Cathedral in Kirkwall and skirting it's way across the island. Traveling past beautiful seascapes, stone circles and neolithic buildings.

This is an alternative choice if you want something a little shorter than the St. Magnus way FKT.
