A multi-sport test-piece that starts and ends at the iconic "Broken Top Bottle Shop" via the summit of the Broken Top mountain.  The only rules are that you must ride the Mrazek singletrack and the Met-Win (trail 99) to approach and descent from the wilderness boundary.  The mountain itself can be climbed via any route, although we recommend the classic NW ridge.  Near the summit is a 15' block that requires some 4th/easy 5th class scrambling.    

FKTs can be recorded for both the entire route (up and down), as well as for just the ascent from the bottle shop to the summit.  

This loop is pretty much straight forward. As described in the book from Stan Swartz, Jim Wolff and Samir Shahin, M.D. "50 Trail Runs in Southern California" it goes around Strawberry Peak using the following trails: Josephine Peak Road, Strawberry Spur Trail, Colby Canyon Trail, Strawberry Peak Trail, Barley Flats Truck Trail, Gabrielino Trail and the Nature Canteen Trail. The loop is about 16.5 miles long including 3.5 miles of fire road, a short section of paved road at the Switzer Picnic Area, and all the rest single lane trail with about 2,700 ft of elevation gain.

Eventful connection path between Saar-Hunsrück-Steig and Soonwaldsteig

If you want to connect the two outstanding premium trails of the Hunsrück, the Soonwaldsteig and the Saar-Hunsrück-Steig, on a beautiful hike, you should take the Schinderhannespfad.
It is named after the robber captain Schinderhannes, who was up to mischief in the region in the 18th century.
Special sights along the route are the castle in Kastellaun, the Schinderhannesturm in Simmern or the castle in Gemünden.
