Laramie Peak (WY)

Description

Laramie Peak is the most prominent, and highest, peak in the Laramie Range.  It served as a visual guide for settlers on the Oregon Trail, due to the fact it can be seen from Nebraska.  It tops out at 10,275 ft elevation with a prominence of 3,312 ft.  The trail is a 4.7 mile route that steadily gains about 2,700 vertical feet to the top.

Description

This route traces the "boundary stones", the original markers that established the nation's capital. That survey was laid out in a square, 10 miles on a side...such a cool route.
