East Coast Greenway - Cheney Rail Trail - Hop River Trail (CT)
This is a loop connecting 3 bike/pedestrian paths. I started at Bolton Notch but technically, since it is a loop, you can start anywhere and go in either direction. The East Coast Greenway (ECG) is a paved bike path but the others are crushed cinder. There are two small sections of road to navigate between the ECG and Cheney Rail Trail and Cheney RT to Hop River Trail. The course has smooth footing and lots of great historical signs along the way.
Loxahatchee 100K Loop (FL)
A near perfect 100 kilometer loop along an Everglades boundary levee in South Florida. Beginning and finishing at Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge just west of Boca Raton. Big challenges due to heat, humidity, sun exposure and effectively no access to drinkable water. Gator sightings are near guaranteed. Lots of other swamp wildlife will be ever present, including snakes. Flat, crushed gravel. In the middle of the swamp, yet just on the edge of the mass of humanity.
