Western Uplands is an overnight backpacking trail with loops of 32 - 88 kilometres in length. The trail can be accessed from the Western Uplands Backpacking Trailhead/Oxtongue River Picnic Ground or the Rain Lake Access Point.
Sunwapta Peak is a 3315m mountain in the Canadian Rockies. It holds the distinction of being a nearly 11,000' slab of rubble poised across the highway from glaciated giants of the Columbia Icefield. Steve Tober set the previous ascent FKT in 1998, at 2h20m to summit, as recorded here.
Mount Smuts is a difficult scramble located in Kananaskis Country, AB.
"Single" is simply climbing the peak & back.
"Double" is doing the approach, the doing the scrambling section twice before going back down.
Mount Northover is located on the continental divide at the head of Three Isle Creek, the head of Aster Creek, and the head of Joffre Creek in Kananaskis Park on the Alberta/BC border.
A Loop (35km) Variation (not shown on map, but shown here) begins and ends at the Interlakes parking lot by Upper Kananaskis Lake.
