One of the main hiking trails of the Sauerland Mountain Club (SGV) is named after Christine Koch. Not everyone is familiar with this lady, which is why we will first say a few words about the Sauerland nightingale. Christine Koch was born in Eslohe in 1869 and was first a teacher in Padberg, then in Borbeck, until she finally moved to what is now the Schmallenberg district of Bracht in 1905.

The Yaberoo Budjara Heritage Trail begins at the bottom of Neil Hawkins Park on the shores of Lake Joondalup with a trail sign identifying the start. The trail runs through Yellagonga Regional Park, Neerabup National Park and onto the northern terminus in Yanchep National Park.

This route is a remarkable journey that stretches across the width of Thailand, offering a unique blend of natural beauty, cultural richness, and physical challenge. For someone unfamiliar with the area, the route provides an extraordinary opportunity to experience Thailand’s diverse landscapes—from the mountains and rivers of the western border with Myanmar to the rolling hills and open plains of the northeast, all the way to the banks of the Mekong River at the eastern frontier near Laos.
