Description

The Ascent trail goes from Blackcomb base to the Rendezvous lodge about 3/4 of the way up Blackcomb. The file I submitted says only 4 miles but that is because it is only the up. The actual distance would be 8 miles.

Description

Sunshine and Red Cloud Peaks are two of Colorado's 58 fourteeners, and are therefore two of the most popular and sought after summits in the state. They are two of the closest fourteeners to the legendary mountain town, Silverton, though many runner will access from Lake City, both towns home to many notable trail races such as Hardrock. These peaks are run daily in the summer. Due to their proximity, most runners will do both summits together.

Centennial Peak

Description

Centennial Peak is the sixth highest peak in the La Platas, and is a popular route to run because of an easy class 1-2 trail that leads right to the top. From the top, runners have the most unencumbered view possible of Hesperus, one of the four Navajo holy mountains. The normal trailhead for Centennial is Sharktooth, but this is accessed from Cortez and Mancos from the east.

Description

Backcountry route in Gros Morne National Park in Newfoundland. A permit is required from Parks Canada for this route, and you must meet with a park ranger and complete a safety briefing. The route starts after a ferry ride to the end of Western Brook Pond, where you disembark and begin. You first traverse up the Western Brook fjord gorge to the rim of the pond, and then travel through the long range mountains until you descend at ferry gulch to the base of Gros Morne. From here you follow the popular Gros Morne Mountain trail to the parking lot, where the route ends.
