The longest hiking trail in Slavonia, eastern Croatia

The Tioga - Tenaya - Clouds Rest Picnic starts and ends in Lee Vining, CA, ventures into Yosemite National Park from the East entrance, and involves a multi-sport day of five legs: Bike-Swim-Run-Swim-Bike.

Leg 1: BIKE - Begin biking at the Tioga Pass turnoff at Highway 395 in Lee Vining, CA. Ride up and into Yosemite National Park from the east side of the park, up and over the Tioga Pass at 9,943 feet elevation, and then descend to the crystal waters of Tenaya Lake.

Starting point and destination of this 48km hiking loop is Wergenstein. One is not only close to pristine flora, but also to a rich fauna: the Safien-Rheinwald region between Piz Beverin and Alp Alperschäli is populated by a large ibex colony with 380 animals. If you are lucky, you can observe male and female ibex and their young. The route zig-zags through naturpark Beverin up and down around the Bruschghorn and is at times quiet demanding.
