This is the classic ascent to the top of the Hahnenköpfle from the valley of the Oytal. You pass along this route the so called 'untere Lugenalpe' and the 'obere Lugenalpe'.

This wonderful ridge run traverses high above the Turnagain Arm from Penguin Peak to Girdwood (SE of Anchorage). The point-to-point route spans a little over 16 miles and accumulates over 9000 ft of elevation gain. It is possible to stay true to the ridge for nearly the entire route, with some scrambling earlier on that gives way to more runable terrain later on.
