The purpose of this run was to run around the perimeter of Lake Marburg at Codorus State park.  This route may not be possible when the lake is full.  It is best run in the fall and winter when the water level drops.  There are many transitions from shore line(exposed edge of the lake bed) to trail to road.  Some of these are short scrambles to reach the next section.

This FKT route is a round trip between Adelaide and the village of Hahndorf, following the "Pioneer Women's" walking trail, plus a semi-urban connection to the Adelaide city center (mostly through parklands). The idea of the round trip and connection to the city follows the original spirit of the trail, which commemorates the journey of merchants transporting goods between the Adelaide hills and the city.

Sherman Branch has three trails: Main Loop, Roller Coaster and Lake Loop. Combining all three of these trails provides one with a beautiful run. You do need to be conscious of mountain bikers as there are quite a few that use these trails as well. The trail is constantly undulating up and down so it can be difficult to get into a groove, but it makes for an exciting run the whole way.
