FKT Marathon Route called "KarawankenKönig" - Crossing a whole mountain range

This route was set as a part of the "Fastestknowntimeaustria" movement in summer 2020. The track is nothing less than the grand travers of the mountainridge called "Karawanken". The Karawanken marking the boarderline between Slovenia in the south and Austria in the north. Even when this area isn't known for an extrem altitude you will face several hard climbs followed by smooth downhills. 

Oxabanan är en historisk led på 17 km från Limmared till Tången och Hofsnäs genom ett varierat landskap med intressant historia. För att underlätta glasbrukets godstransporter byggde man 1880 en järnväg från Limmared fram till Åsunden där en ångslup tog vid. Banan höll dock inte för det inköpta lokomotivet utan man fick använda en oxe som dragare, därav namnet Oxabanan.

Note that it is not necessary to do the short out & backs, and loops indicated by our GPX track.  Stay on the main trail.
