Description

The Irish Munros is a list of the thirteen highest Irish mountain peaks with an elevation of over 3000 feet (914 metres) and with a minimum prominence of 15 metres. There are 13 such peaks in Ireland. The concept of the Irish Munros is taken from the Scottish Munros which is a list of peaks over 3000 feet that was compiled by Sir Hugh Munroe in 1891. The 13 Irish peaks are spread out over four Mountain ranges : The Wicklow Mountains; The Galtee Mountain Range; The MacGillycuddy's Reeks; and the Brandon Group.
