Run from the PUD parking lot up either the single track trail or the fall line trail to the summit. Any route can be used from the parking lot. Note our map shows the fall line trail, which is much shorter than the main trail, which has a Strava Segment.

Hallandsleden is about 360 kilometers long and crosses the Swedish region of Halland from north to south. It connects to the also well known Skåneleden in the south and Bohusleden in the north. The trail has 24 stages and only a few points for resupply along the route, thus making it a challenge for an unsupported FKT.
The middle part of the trail is divided into into a westerly and an easterly part. The total distance by choosing the western part is 297 km and 309 km for the eastern part.
Exited Dulles International Airport arrivals via Saarinen Circle and followed Cargo Dr onto Autopilot D, right on Materials Rd, left onto Ariane Way. Headed east on Old Ox Road which merged into Sterling Rd around 7km then left onto Elden St before right onto Coral Rd. Merged onto the Washington & Old Dominion Railroad Trail and followed from Reston onward. At 30km mark exited onto W Broad St then slight left onto Arlington Blvd and alongside S Four Mile Run Dr which merged into S Glebe Rd.

Greg Nance: "Began at JFK's Terminal 7 and exited the airport via JFK Expressway. Took 148th, 150th, 142nd and 140th streets north onto Van Wyck Expressway. Around the 8km mark I detoured onto Kew Gardens Road then merged onto Queens Blvd before 10km. Followed Queens Blvd until 13km then north onto Junction Blvd til it merged into 94th street all the way to LaGuardia's Central Terminal Drive at 18km."

The North Boundary country possesses its own unique brand of beauty- a wilderness of broad valleys and distant views that is inhabited by an array of wildlife. The trail is rugged and many large, potentially dangerous creek crossings are not bridged. Not recommended during periods of high water.Some horse traffic.
