The Novey List (UT)

Description

Below is my list of the 100 most significant named summits in the Wasatch - from Willard to Nebo. The actual list is well over 100 peaks including some sub-summits and noted features of a larger massif, but for simplicity's sake I've narrowed it down to the top 100 I feel are necessary to claim satisfactory "completion" of the Wasatch. The overall goal was to create a list that covers the main Wasatch Crest and includes the WURL and all of major high points in each massif/grouping.

Description

The Pentland way is a 20 mile (31.6km) route along the full length of the Pentlands. It has been classified by the "Long Distance Walkers Association" as a long distance way and includes over 1150m of elevation. The route embraces all that make the Pentland Hills such a special place - beautiful reservoirs, steep hillsides, historic villages and majestic wildlife.

The idea of this route first came about in 2012 by "Friends of the Pentlands" Charity founder, John Stirling. It was later waymarked with special signage and officially came into existence in 2015.

North Bend Rail Trail

Description

The North Bend Rail Trail (NBRT) follows the corridor built through the rugged Allegheny Plateau for the Baltimore and Ohio (B&O) Railroad between 1853 and 1857. After railway operations ceased, work on the rail trail was started in the 1990s and today it serves as the second longest rail trail in West Virginia. Ten of the 13 original tunnels are still passable and remain part of the trail. In addition to the stone-block tunnels, there are 36 bridges and trestles on the trail.
