Description

This FKT route follows the old Eastern Railway line through scenic Perth Hills bushland and rolling terrain, forming a continuous 41 km loop from Bellevue around to Mt Helena and back. The trail is wide and easy to follow.

Key features include:

  • Swan View Tunnel: A historic 340 m rail tunnel carved through the Darling Range — a signature point along the route.

  • Golden Pipeline alignment: Sections parallel to the iconic Goldfields Water Supply Scheme pipeline add heritage interest and variety.

The Gabrielino Trail is a United States National Recreation Trail that runs through the Angeles National Forest in Los Angeles County, California. Its western trailhead is near the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Altadena, California, and it runs generally east/west, with its eastern terminus at Chantry Flats, just north of Arcadia, California. It passes through three major watersheds and has an elevation gain/loss of 5-6,000' depending on the direction.  It consists almost entirely of singletrack trail in the wilderness areas to the West, North, and East of Mt. Wilson.
