Dear internet, tomorrow morning at 5am I Troy “Tortuga” Allen and Mikaela “Flyby” Osler will be attempting the set the Unsupported record for the Connecticut section of the AT. We will carry our own food and water.

?????????

Mikaela Osler and I finished the route on Wednesday 6/12/19. We started at 4:58am and finished at 9:06pm.

Hello, my name is Drew Humphreys. Today (Wednesday, June 12, 2019) I ran from the pavement of Hoyt Rd (6:50 AM) to the Sages Ravine Brook crossing (6:58 PM) in about 12 hours and 8 minutes. That’s the whole CT section of the AT I believe. This was partially supported, since my brother was running with me for the first 22 miles, and he spent some of that time carrying my small pack. Two days ago (Monday), I personally left bags of food and water at 10 different road crossings along the trail.

I tracked most of it on a GPS watch, but it ran out of battery at 4:10 PM. I have it tracked to that point, then took two time-stamped smartphone videos near the end. One was coming down Bear Mountain into Massachusetts (in case the real CT/MA border is used), and one was when I got to the Sages Ravine crossing and the CT:MA sign, and I crossed the brook.

The true CT/MA border, before the trail gets all the way down into Sages Ravine, was more like 11 hours and 59 minutes.

Will this not work as an official record if I use these? I’m expecting it to not be acceptable. Thanks anyway.

Good luck to Tortuga and Flyby, our paths crossed 3 different times and they told me about these records on this site. Thanks a lot guys.
