Eagle Mountain (MN)
Admin note: Here is a Strava segment for the standard up & down route. The FKT appears to be 57:53 by Shane Steele, with several other times around 1:10 to 1:12.
Minnesota isn’t known for its mountains but Eagle Mountain is unique. Besides being the state highpoint it is also the sixth-most isolated peak in the lower 48 states (after Whitney, Mitchell, Washington, Rainier and Elbert), being over 400 miles from the next highest point.

Via del Sale - Varzi Sori/Recco (Italy)
Context and geography
The "Via del Sale" ("Salt Way", or "Salt Road") is a point-to-point route that crosses 4 Italian regions across the Appenini Ridge ('Appennini Liguri' or 'Appennini Settentrionali'), connecting the inland (Pianura Padana) to the Sea in Liguria.
Appennini starts near Genoa and continue South for the whole length of the Italian "boot", dividing the peninsula in two coastal area. The mountains around Genoa are quite steep on the coastal side and connect the Appennini, coming from East, with Alps, on the west side.
