The Tōkaidō road (東海道, Tōkaidō, [to̞ːka̠ido̞ː]), which roughly means eastern sea route, was the most important of the Five Routes of the Edo period in Japan, connecting 

Starting from the quaint village on the West Coast of Fife, Culross, head North East following the Pilgrims Way, all the way to the historic town of St. Andrews.
Upon reaching St. Andrews, head South West back to Culross along the Fife Coastal Path back to Culross.
