Description

This route follows the iconic Continental Divide Trail starting at Wolf Creek Pass and ending at Cumbres Pass (or reverse) just north of the Colorado/New Mexico Border. The route starts at 10,800' on Wolf Creek Pass, reaches a peak of 12,670' and does not drop below 10,000' in elevation until the the very end at Cumbres Pass. It travels through a significant portion of the South San Juan Wilderness area, which is the most remote wilderness area in Colorado and where the last grizzly bear in Colorado was found.
