Description

The Erie Canalway is a National Heritage Corridor that spans 360 miles across New York state between Albany and Buffalo.

Built between 1817 and 1825, the original Erie Canal traversed 363 miles, overcoming hills with 83 lift locks. It was the longest man-made waterway and the greatest public works project in North America.

Block Island Circumnavigation (RI)

Description

A circumnavigation of Block Island, 13 miles off of Rhode Island. All on the beach with rocky terrain, and a swim across a channel 9.5 miles in. Pretty flat, but difficult terrain. 

Baiersbronner Seensteig (Germany)

Description

The "Baiersbronner Seensteig" is a premium long distance hiking trail within the "Black Forest National Park" in the south west of Germany. It was voted as one of the most beautiful hiking trails by the German Hiking Association. Officially the route consists of five stages, some with extra lead ins from the public transport stations to reach the actual course.
