Pacific Crest Trail - Section I, White Pass to Snoqualmie Pass

Description

The Pacific Crest Trail's Section I runs from White Pass near Mt. Rainier to Snoqualmie Pass. It is reputedly one of the ugliest sections of trail on the PCT, with few views, long exposed clear cut sections, and a couple of long stretches without reliable water. However, the section from White Pass to Chinook Pass is beautiful, with many lakes, and it runs through generally mild terrain that makes for fast miles, especially for runners. The section is 99 miles long, with 17,771 feet of elevation gain in the northbound direction.
