The GR30 goes around many lakes of Auvergne of glacial (Lac de Guéry) or volcanic (Lac Pavin, Lac de la Cassière...) origin and crosses three volcanic regions of Auvergne: the Monts-Dore, the Puys chain and the Cezallier.

The K&P trail runs along the old Kingston and Pembroke Railway bed.  It is a series of unconnected sections between Kingston and Renfrew, Ontario.
