Traveling between the coastal communities of the Labrador Straits, the Pioneer Footpath currently stretches 60km from L'Anse au Clair to Pinware. Before the construction of the highway in the 1950s that now links all the communities of the area, this footpath played a vital role in travel and communication between residents when sea travel was not possible. These old footpaths have been preserved over time, and have been transformed into a hiking trail for residents and visitors. The trail is marked diligently with sign posts bearing a footprint making it relatively easy to follow.

The Sisson-Callahan is a National Recreation Trail that historically was used by forest rangers to connect stations in Callahan and Sisson, nowadays called Mt Shasta City.

This new (2010) long distance walking route follows the course of the River Avon by linking existing rights of way from Pewsey to Salisbury. In Salisbury the trail connects to the existing 34-mile Avon Valley Path 

This is a road run of the Oregon coast, border-to-border, generally following US Hwy 101, except veering off for a bit when 101 gets too dangerous.

Described northbound (you may run either direction):  Start at the border of CA/Or on US RT 101 and head north through Gold Beach, Port Orford, Bandon, Coos Bay, Reedsport, Florence, Yachats, Waldport, Newport, Lincoln City, Neskowin. Total Distance ~261 miles.

Make Left on Brooten Road and go through Pacific City and Sandlake. Total Distance ~12 miles.
