The Jura Crest Trail (Chemin des Crêtes du Jura / Jura Höhenweg (n°5)) is the oldest long-distance hike in Switzerland. Signposting on the route – starting at Zurich and ending just before Geneva – began as early as 1905. It is a long-distance hike that links two major Swiss towns, and as the name suggests, leads over the heights of the Swiss Jura. This makes a sweeping arc towards the northwest, so those hiking this trail go a little round the bend – and over the linguistic border.

The Brüder Grimm Lauf is an epic point to point race through the state of Hessen from Hanau to Steinau. It has been established to honor the life of the Brothers Grimm. They spent their life among this route, with Hanau as their place of birth. Since 1984 every first weekend of June, hundreds of runners run the 80km from Hanau to Steinau separated into 5 challenging stages through towns, fields and forests.

Der Milseburgweg ist ein Fernwanderweg quer durch die Rhön . Die Rhön ist ein etwa 1500 km² großes Mittelgebirge im Grenzgebiet der deutschen Länder Bayern, Hessen und Thüringen. Man kann den Weg von Osten nach Westen laufen oder auch anders herum.Die Start bzw. Endpunkte sind jeweils die Bahnhöfe in Meiningen und Fulda.Da die Rhön auch „Land der offenen Fernen“ genannt wird , hat man sehr viele schöne Ausblicke . Es werde kaum Verkehrswege gekreuzt , mit sehr hohen Singeltrailanteil.
