Peter is a life-long adventure athlete who has run over 80 marathons and ultramarathons, and numerous non-race adventures. He was the first person to run the John Muir Trail under 4 days (2003), and the only person to do a Double Hardrock (2006). He has held numerous FKTs, and still holds a few, including for the 100-mile White Rim Road in Canyonlands National Park, and more recently established a new link-up in Boulder's Flatirons - the Spring Flatirons Classics. Peter founded the original FKT website in the mid-2000s (which was profiled in the New York Times), and teamed up with Buzz Burrell & Jeff Schuler to create this new website to record and track FKTs throughout the world. He is an Ambassador for Ultimate Direction, working to design and promote great products for the self-propelled athlete.
