Description

The Trinity Alps Wilderness, located in northwestern California, is home to more than 600 miles of trails and encompasses more than 500 acres of land. It is the second largest wilderness area in California after having doubled in size when the 1984 California Wilderness Act was passed. That same year it was added to the Wilderness Preservation System. 

Black Dome, Windham High Peak Loop (NY)

Description

Route linking two beautiful ranges in the northern Catskills with a road section.  This is a classic loop in the northern section of the Catskill Park, one of the most important hiking areas in New York State. It traverses four major peaks making use of marked trails, which are part of the Catskill 35: Thomas Cole Mountain (3,940'), Black Dome (3,980'), Blackhead (3,940'), Windham High Peak (3,524').

Four Birds Trail (NJ)

Description

The Four Birds Trail is located in Rockaway Township NJ. Marked with white blazes, it runs from the base of the Greenpond Mountain, near the New Foundland Train Station (abandoned) and terminates at the parking lot for the Wildcat Ridge Wildlife Management Area on Greenpond Road in Hibernia. Greenpond Mountain is comprised of the purple hued conglomerate rock layers commonly known as puddingstone in the Morris County area.
